Practical Analog IC Design Training
CYBERJAYA, 2ND NOVEMBER, 2009.
Nine (9) IC design engineers from King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia completed training in Practical Analog IC Design in ICdidik LAB.
ICdidik LAB, a leading IC Design and Research Lab in Malaysia, recently completed the hands-on training in Analog Integrated Circuit (IC) design for engineers from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Saudi Arabia. The training was conducted over three (3) months in ICdidik LAB’s high end design facilities in Cyberjaya with great success in bringing up the IC design competency of the engineers. The training was conducted by highly experienced Project Masters and Engineers from ICdidik LAB and covered practical design and manufacturability issues in Analog IC Design. The contents of the training emphasized on the areas of CMOS Fabrication Process & Device Characterization; Scoping, Design, Layout & Verification of discrete Analog IC products. The emphasis of the training was to learn through hands-on design exposure the design architectures, techniques and issues in product design from conception to full layout and verification.
“We are pleased that with the conclusion of the training [in ICdidik LAB] the KACST engineers have gained adequate exposure to be able to contribute in the development of IC Design in their home country. We hope that the engineers will be able to learn not only the skills and techniques in design but also experience the thinking method to innovate and to consistently produce products which can compete at the global level” said Abd. Rashid Munir, Chief Executive Officer of IC Microsystems Sdn. Bhd. and ICmic UniKL Academy Sdn. Bhd.

About KACST
King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST) (http://www.kacst.edu.sa) is an independent scientific organization of the Saudi Arabian Government, established in 1977 under the name of Saudi Arabian National Center for Science & Technology (SANCST) and later in 1985 renamed as 'King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology (KACST)'. From its inception in 1977, KACST had been carrying out its mission in the promotion of science & technology in the Kingdom by coordinating and cooperating with various universities, agencies and institutions concerned with research and technology, and encouraging Saudi experts to undertake research that will help promote the development and evolution of the society. Besides this, KACST, through cooperative agreements with international science and technology institutions/organizations, encourages closer ties with friendly countries.
